I\u2019m a pharmacist. Every single month, an elderly woman comes into my pharmacy to pick up her regular medications. She absolutely notices the change, but she never questions it out loud. Instead, we have built a beautiful, silent agreement. I adjust the final numbers on the screen, and she doesn’t ask why her total keeps getting smaller. It isn\u2019t about charity; it\u2019s about a pharmacist who simply refuses to watch a person choose which part of her body she can afford to keep alive this month.<\/p>\n
