A giant anteater reintroduction program in Argentina\u2019s Iber\u00e1 Wetlands is celebrating 19 years of success after bringing back a species that had disappeared from the region decades ago due to hunting, fires, and habitat loss.<\/p>\n
Launched in 2007, the project has rescued and released more than 110 giant anteaters, helping create new wild populations. Today, more than 200 of these animals are living freely across the wetlands, restoring their important role in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n
