After entering the enclosure with food, Rapura was suddenly grabbed by a crocodile he had long cared for and pulled toward the water. Despite clinging to the edge of the pool during a harrowing struggle that lasted over an hour while witnesses and rescuers frantically tried to save him, he sustained severe injuries.
