In 2017, Pablo Kreft, a high school student in Santiago, Chile, was undergoing chemotherapy for testicular cancer when his classmates decided to show him he wasn’t facing it alone. One by one, the boys in his class shaved their heads in solidarity with Pablo, and even their homeroom teacher joined them for the photo that later spread across Chilean social media. Pablo’s mother said the image represented affection, love, and a positive way of facing a difficult time.
