When Milissa Davis noticed her severely autistic 12-year-old son Camden becoming distressed, aggressive, and wetting the bed again, she placed a recording device in his backpack to understand what was happening at Hope Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The recordings captured two school employees making cruel and inappropriate comments about Camden, prompting the school to take action and reportedly fire both teachers. Milissa removed her son from the school and later said he continued struggling with anxiety, while speaking publicly to ensure other children with special needs are treated with dignity and care.
