A Florida woman became the talk of her retirement community after vehicle licensing officials unexpectedly assigned her a racy license plate.
Nancy Dello Stritto, a 76-year-old resident of Pompano Beach, admitted she “went ballistic” upon realizing her new plate read “SQZ A55.”
Puzzled by how the combination passed inspection, she initially didn’t notice the mistake when the replacement plate arrived in the mail.
While some neighbors urged her to swap it, her family and sons found the humor in the situation and encouraged her to keep it.
Despite her initial shock, Dello Stritto ultimately decided to keep the license plate “just to see what happens.”
She humorously noted that, being over 70, she wouldn’t mind if the suggestive plate earned her a few friendly honks on the road.
Florida’s license plates are manufactured at a state prison in North Florida and are distributed through various state agencies.
In response to the mix-up, Broward County officials confirmed that any resident with an offensive plate can exchange it entirely for free.
