These Tiny Insects Can Hide In Plain Sight On Your Walls… See more

At first glance, the tiny cocoon-like object attached to your wall may seem completely harmless.

Many people ignore it or mistake it for a small piece of dust, lint, or debris.

However, it could actually be the protective home of a case-bearing moth larva, or plaster bagworm.

These insects are commonly found on indoor walls, ceilings, closets, garages, and other quiet areas.

They build their protective cases using silk, dust, hair, spider webs, and other debris found nearby.

While not dangerous to humans, their presence may indicate excess dust, humidity, or hidden insect activity.

The larvae carry these small portable cases around their bodies, making them larger as they grow.

If their numbers increase, they can become a nuisance by feeding on natural fibers, wool, and pet hair.

To get rid of them, remove visible cases, vacuum regularly, and reduce indoor humidity levels.

Regularly inspecting your walls and keeping a clean, well-ventilated home remains your best defense against them.
