Michael J. Fox will be honored with the Television Academy’s prestigious Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at this year’s Emmy Awards, recognizing his decades of work raising awareness and funding research for Parkinson’s disease.
The award celebrates Fox’s efforts through the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which has become one of the world’s largest nonprofit supporters of Parkinson’s research. His advocacy has helped advance scientific studies and inspire millions affected by the disease.
Beyond his humanitarian work, Fox remains one of television’s most celebrated actors, with 19 Emmy nominations and five wins throughout his career, including for iconic roles in Family Ties and Spin City.
The honor adds another milestone to Fox’s remarkable journey, recognizing not only his entertainment legacy but also his courage, determination, and commitment to helping others through his battle with Parkinson’s.
