Texas is mourning the heartbreaking deaths of 14-year-old Beau Vayon and 15-year-old Kinden Washington, classmates and members of the Newton Eagles junior varsity football program and marching band, who were killed late Saturday night when the four-wheeler they were riding collided with a pickup truck on State Highway 87 in Newton County. The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 29 as the ATV traveled along the highway shoulder, and despite emergency respondersā efforts, both teenagers died from their injuries after being taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital. Their sudden deaths have devastated their families, teammates and classmates, while the Newton community has rallied together with fundraisers and other support efforts as authorities continue investigating the crash.
