The satirical name change is a direct jab at President Donald Trump’s recent administrative actions, which included renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America, and proposing to rename New Mexico to New America. Framing the decision as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to corporate “capitulation,” Parker and Stone’s move continues their long tradition of mocking the Trump administration, which previously drew formal criticism from the White House following seasons that featured real images of Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
