Ryder Wells, a young boy from North Carolina, survived a horrific attack by two Rottweilers in 2015 when he was only 21 months old, suffering devastating injuries that included severe facial trauma, crushed teeth, a broken arm and a punctured lung. Despite doctors’ concerns, he survived and underwent numerous reconstructive surgeries—reportedly around 50—to rebuild his face. His mother has also spoken about the painful reactions he has faced from strangers and other children, including staring and cruel comments. Ryder’s story has become one of remarkable survival and resilience, while his family continues to advocate for compassion and kindness toward people with visible differences.
