He reportedly passed away peacefully in **Victoria, British Columbia, on July 29, 2026**, after a career spanning more than five decades across television, film and theatre. Hylands also appeared in productions including *V*, *The X-Files* and *Fargo*, while continuing his connection to the stage even after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2021.
