Following the death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells, who disappeared during a Fourth of July boating trip to Horn Island, his close friend Warren Hudson explained why he and other friends did not attend Wells’ funeral, saying they had received **death threats and feared for their safety**. Hudson also said the group initially did not realize Wells was missing because they believed he may have stayed on the island, gone to someone’s house, or fallen asleep elsewhere. Wells’ family continues to question the circumstances of his death and has called for greater transparency, while an independent autopsy reportedly left the cause and manner of death undetermined and authorities have said the investigation remains ongoing.
