A chaotic scene unfolded at a restaurant in Cerritos, Southern California, when a knife-wielding man allegedly entered the busy establishment and moved through kitchen and service areas, alarming customers and employees. Authorities said an armed customer with a valid concealed-carry permit confronted him and ordered him to drop the knife, but the man allegedly continued advancing, prompting the customer to fire. The man was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene, while investigators continue examining what happened before the confrontation, including reports that he may have arrived after abandoning a possibly stolen vehicle. The armed customer remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, and authorities have not yet disclosed a motive or publicly identified the deceased man.
