Dad’s Gravestone Sparks Outrage After People Spot ‘Secret’ Message: ‘It Needs To Be Removed’

A gravestone in an Iowa cemetery sparked controversy after visitors discovered that the first letters of its sentimental inscription secretly spelled “F*** OFF.” The memorial belongs to Steven Paul Owens, who died in 2021, and his family said the hidden message was a private joke that reflected his playful personality and the way he showed affection to those close to him. While some people found the tribute funny and personal, cemetery officials reportedly objected to the profanity and argued that the stone was inappropriate for a public cemetery, even calling for its removal. Despite the backlash, Owens’ family defended their decision, saying they simply wanted to remember their father as he truly was.
