*National Treasure 3* appears to be finally moving forward, with director Jon Turteltaub confirming on August 21 that “it’s happening” and revealing that a screenplay has already been written and approved by him and Disney. Turteltaub said the project is now “Hollywood real,” meaning plans could still change, but he hopes the original cast will return, including Nicolas Cage as Benjamin Franklin Gates. The news comes after years of uncertainty, with Cage previously denying in 2024 that a third film was in development.
