A Tennessee family is mourning the tragic death of a 3-year-old boy who was found Tuesday inside a disabled van on the family’s property near Pegram. The child had been reported missing after a nap, and a sibling discovered him before deputies arrived; CPR and emergency efforts were unsuccessful. Investigators believe the boy may have entered the vehicle on his own and become trapped, with dangerous heat inside the van believed to have contributed to his death. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances and are urging parents and caregivers to remember that even parked, non-operational vehicles can become deadly in extreme heat.
