David Lindsay, a 64-year-old retired builder from Cambridge, was horrified when his seven-month-old bulldog, Harley, chewed his big toe down to the bone while he slept, leaving him with a severe injury. But doctors soon discovered that David had lost feeling in his foot because two arteries in his leg were blocked, a condition that could have threatened his leg and potentially led to amputation. While receiving treatment for the injured toe, David began evaluations for possible stents to restore blood flow—and despite the shocking incident, he says he has no intention of giving up the puppy he believes may have helped save his leg….
