Jimmy Kimmel doubled down on his claim that the FCC threatened his show over an interview with Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, saying the interview was moved from ABC to the show’s YouTube channel because of pressure from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and concerns surrounding political “equal-time” rules. Kimmel called the situation another attack on free speech, noting that he has interviewed political candidates from both parties for years, while the White House rejected his allegations, accusing him of “play-acting” and insisting that Carr never threatened him or the network over the Talarico interview.
