A German Shepherd being trained as a service dog seemed to be doing everything right—until trainers discovered how deeply attached he was to a tiny stuffed elephant that he carried and cuddled everywhere. But instead of being a failure, his story became a sweet reminder that sometimes an animal may simply be better suited to a different kind of life, where it can be happy and completely itself.
