When St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Dustin Byers stopped a speeding driver on Highway 21, he learned the man was rushing to a funeral and was too overwhelmed with grief to even tie his necktie. Instead of simply issuing the citation, Byers took a moment to help him tie his tie on the roadside before the man continued on his way. He still received the speeding ticket, but the deputy’s small act of compassion showed that enforcing the law and showing kindness can go hand in hand—especially when someone is facing one of the hardest moments of their life. ❤️
