Firefighters in Pueblo, Colorado, rescued seven puppies and a pet rat from a burning home after responding to a structure fire on Sunday, Aug. 2.
Tragically, two adult dogs and one puppy died from smoke inhalation, but first responders saved the surviving animals using CPR and supplemental oxygen.
Photos showed crews caring for the pets in towel-lined tubs before transferring the surviving puppies to the Pikes Peak Humane Society. No humans were injured.
