Reggie Bannister, the beloved actor and musician best known for starring in the iconic *Phantasm* horror franchise, has passed away at the age of 80. He died peacefully at his home in Crestline, California, surrounded by loved ones.
A U.S. military veteran who served in the Vietnam War, Bannister later pursued acting and captured the hearts of horror fans as the shotgun-wielding ice cream salesman Reggie across all five *Phantasm* movies.
In his final years, Bannister bravely fought Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia. His wife, Gigi, shared that he passed away comfortably and is finally free from pain.
